We are pleased to present an eclectic
mix of comedy, drama, musicals,
family fare, and a special production
that will tie in to the Abraham
Lincoln Bicentennial celebration.

off-Broadway hit was later
translated into a smash film. It
centers on the trials and
tribulations of a group of
women in a small town in Louisiana. Featuring
an all-female cast, the play
depicts life, love and death
with equal parts laughter
and tears.
December

The
beloved musical is staged in
a kid-centric version that loses
none of the charm of the original. Kids
and parents alike will revel
in this fast-paced, funny
production that features beloved
songs like “The
Candy Man” and “Oompa-Loompa-Doompadee-Do.”

hilarious and
haunting
production is
an authentic
staging
of the
hit 19th
Century
comedy about
a staid
British family
whose
lives are
turned upside

play assumed its place in
American history when it was
performed at Ford’s
Theater in Washington, D.C.
in April of 1865, with President
Lincoln in the audience. This
STC production will recreate
that pivotal union of theatre
and
history.

To
be performed for the first
time on the STC stage, this
off-Broadway musical is based
upon the historical novel
of the same name. Set
in 1847, it tells the story
of the unlikely friendship
between a pregnant runaway
slave and a white woman abandoned
by her husband on an isolated
Alabama farm. Their
story is moving, tragic and
inspiring.
The
Springfield Theatre Centre
is a non-profit community theater

out
of the Hoogland Center for
the
